Disclosure: I received tickets to this event and was not compensated in any other way! Thanks for reading!
I hope everyone is having a happy Monday. I’m a little groggy. D decided to get up early this morning! On the plus side, he crashed super early for his nap! Poor baby!
I was so thrilled when I found out that we were invited to participate in a Day Out with Thomas! Declan loves anything with wheels and he was shouting “choo-choo” all the way to the North Carolina Transportation Museum. (Or at least it felt that way!) Before the event, I recommend you order your train tickets. It will make the process go a little more smoothly and you won’t have to worry about waiting in the wait call line! On the day of the event, you will get your tickets and an arm band for the event. (The website should instruct you in the ordering process and help you get the tickets for what you desire to do.) You have several options for train ride times and you can opt to pay $5.00 more to ride Percy. Since this was our first experience, we decided to ride Thomas. (He is the star of the show, after all!)
A Day Out with Thomas not only includes a train ride, but also many other activities! (Storytelling, Video Viewing, Magic Show, Music with the Pied Piper of Percussion, Turntable Rides-$1.00 per person, Model Railroad Layouts, Temporary Tattoos, Play Area with Sidewalk Chalk and bubbles, Imagination Station Coloring Tables, Thomas, Percy, and Sir Topham Hatt Photo areas, Bounce Castle, Hay Bale Maze, Putt Putt Golf, Arts and Crafts, and Play Tables.) Many of the outdoor activities were closed due to rainy weather on our visit, but we still had a wonderful time! I HIGHLY recommend this experience to anyone with young children, especially those little Thomas fans out there!
I’m famous. It’s fun seeing it in print anyway!
Thomas on his way to pick us up!
Stopping at the platform to let off passengers and allow us to get on! :)

Declan is a certified Jr. Engineer! (He now has his certificate in his My Art Gallery frame in his room. )
Declan and Dada with Thomas!
As you can see the trip was wonderful, despite the rain. The train was filled with music from Thomas and lots of excited children. The ride was a definite bright spot after the down pour. (Our ride was approximately 25 minutes) After our ride, we explored the gift shop and looked at Thomas sets. Declan got a James train to add to his collection. (He already had a Thomas and Percy.)
Declan has been playing with his trains ever since! He talks about choos-choos the majority of the day now! This morning, when I came in to get him for breakfast, he pointed at his frame and said “choo-choo!” I would say that makes this trip a success! I’ll definitely never forget it!
